    Wet snow and wind and a tough bite had us wondering what the heck we were doing bobbing around on the big river when we both had to go to work later in the day.

    But then Steve hooked into this gal.
    Great job by the net man as she came unbuttoned as soon as she came over the side of the boat.

    Everts hair jig with a “mongo minnow” did the trick.

    26 1/4 … and we should have taped the girth; she was really thick through the shoulders and belly.
    no weight cause all we had was a cheap spring scale and we wanted a quick release.

    Great fish – Those are the fish that make the trip and even manage to warm you up in those conditions.
