I’ve heard the Marquette ramp is open and in pretty decent shape to get on the river. How is the flow and level in that area? They’re sure talking about flooding on the Rock River so is it even safe in the L&D15 area?

From what I saw on Sunday, there were about 7 or 8 boats at the dam and about 12 to 15 hook-ups in the lot. Ramp was free and clear and river looked good. I don’t think that the Rock river will affect the big river much. It all depends on how much rain we get this weekend and how it affects the ice jams on the smaller rivers. If the ice jams start to break-up, you are going to get alot of debris in the river, which always makes it tough.

Ramp is clear–Rock River breaking up shouldn’t affect the river much except for downstream. Got in and caught a couple dozen mostly smallish sauger/walleye at the dam last Friday. Boat’s now broke and in the shop –my own fault, but better now than later. Throw some posts out there reporting good fishing and I’ll start calling my mechanic and bugging him to hurry up!

Just took a peak at the River Cam and there doesn’t appear to be any boats at the dam. Has the fishing been better up in the slough?
