Anyone fishing pool 5 today. I took a road trip to check out future fishing areas,bait stores ect ect. Talk to a group of three launching at Belvedere and they were going out after gills.Another boat had already launched and it looked like a good size rig at least by the size of the trailer. The launch looked to be in good shape with a small lip of ice about two inches high and half a foot wide.I wish I would have brought a maul or something with me as I could have had it gone in a hurry.I didn’t see anyone fishing the open water below the alma dam or anywhere other than the folks heading out for gills. I checked out the gas station and bait store as your leaving town on the south end across from grain elevaters and it seemed to be well equipped other than no pool 5 maps. I would have liked one to look at. It looks like a good area to check out. James you guide down there? I drove down and checked out Buffalo City area and saw a lot of geese and then drove back up and across to Lake city. Didn’t see any one ice fishing there so headed home. Talked to a few ice fishermen fishing the backwaters across the Wabasha bridge and just small gills. All in all a good road trip with some new spots to check out.Hope this helps someone.
