Made my maiden voyage down to Pool 2 Sat morn with the intention of just getting familiar with this fishery. After a couple hrs of driving around looking at some of the structure and locating some wing dams, I decided to try a couple dams near the airport and was rewarded with a couple of chunky walleye’s. First fish 25″ half hr later a 26″ that was crazy fat. Those two fish were all I could get to go,but sure had a blast down there. Much like the reports I have read on IDO, I found the fish to be on the middle half to shoreline side of the dams and both fish caught on blk precission jigs tipped with purple and chart ringworm. Cant wait to get back down there again.

Not bad for a maiden voyage. Nice to meet you down there yesterday…and sweet boat you’ve got there.

well done for the first time out. putting two fish like that in the boat will give you the confidence to last at least a couple of slow days. I was out last night with my brothers for our annual turkey bowl and only 2 fish were caught, by the same brother, and i got totally blanked. I can’t wait to get back down there.

I was out saturday all morning and got blanked too… as well as my partner. The wind combined with the bright sky made for a tough bite that day in my opinion. We gave up around noon and tried to find some of those crappies that Pete has been reporting on. It wasn’t too long and we were on to some. I had forgotten what a big crappie looked like!

Anyway I’m probably going to try it tomorrow AM before the cool winds start blowing again and I have to head down for turkey day.

Two fish like that on your first outing AND catching them on wingdams with plastics! You are way ahead of the curve! Good job sir!

Fishing was pretty good today. Lots of nice walleyes coming to the boat. Ring worms and paddle tails out preformed Kgrubs. Purple was the hot color. A lot of our fish seemed to be relating to shoreline structures. Ended the day with close to 30 walleyes. Had a fair amount in the 26 to 28″ range. Sure hope this weather blows thrrew quick.

About 530 or 6. Not to late. It seems to slow down after that.
