Hay, Kensyl Reading, Can a guy get in below the dam there in Muscatine or not. Im gettin the itch but dont want to drag the boat clear down there just to listen to the wind blow. I’ll head for Redwing ifn I cant get in there. Is there any fish there? Never put in there but I really dont want to go to bellevue either. Friend of mine was there tuesday and wed and only got small stuff. Thanks

Ya Hey Der – TT Musc. is totally open, ramps in good shape. We’ve do’n pretty well (see fish repots Pool 17)

The better fish are in the middle slot. ! Mix up presentation!

Worms, rubber 4″ lizzards, rubber shad etc. for some reason these type baits have been triggering them. The bit times seem to vary, one day early, next noon, next day 2pm.

    Good Luck

Ok Gofish, I went over today just to see if things looked good and you are right. Things lookin good over there. Ramps not a drop of ice. Talked to one boat had 3 guys in it and they said was a lil tough to get any. Next boat came in had 1 guy in it and he said he kept 9 and could have had more ifn he’d keep some smaller ones. Said he threw bunch of smaller stuff back. I might give it a try tomorrow ifn wind aint blowin too hard.

Yo TT – Did you read my Fish Report ? Please throw the shorts back !! Guys are keep’n small Saugers. My opinion is that we need a size standard for Saugers !!!!!!! The Corp is run’n a lot of water so don’t be intimidated by that middle slot. Use something different than the usual jig/minnow – it’l pay dividends for ya !

Yuper Kensyl, I read your pool 17 report about two minutes after I started this post. I thought DUH. Anyway, today I let the weather man scare me out. They were forcasting rain changing to snow today in the early afternoon. The last thing I needed for my day off was to be 70-80 miles from home with bad roads of rain changing to ice and then finishing it off with a couple inches of snow. Well by the time I figured out that I had been lied to AGAIN, It was too late for me to head out. I swear, Im not listening to them again!!! Thanks for the info anyway. I’m going to make it over there one of these days. Maybe next weekend. I agree with you on the size limit on the sauger. I have seen guys all up and down the river keepin small stuff just because there isn’t a size limit. I’ll keep in touch.

hey there gofish, last year i e=mailed the dnr about a length limit on saugers.they said that there are enough sauger in the river not to put a length on sauger.and that the ones that DO get released have a high survival rate.they should have one just to keep evryone honest.have seen a few short (green )saugers go into some livewells at d-port.maybe they should try length limits on certain pools.sure would help in some pools.this is just my opinion, and evreyone has one of those, thanks…………. eyesrit
