I fished below lock & dam #8 yesterday afternoon and never saw so many weeds and grass in the water as I did yesterday.
It was almost impossible to fish due to the weeds in the water.
To me the quantity of weeds dying off in the fall seems to be getting worse every year…or am I just imagining this?
I’ve been in the upper pool of 9 all weekend. Jigging was the only possible way to fish. Salad stuck to everything. Lures, trolling motor, line you name it. I think it was the reason my live well pump went out.
I fished Lynxville Saturday, same thing. Only place you could fish is where there wasn’t a lot of current. Then there wasn’t a lot of fish. Huge “islands” of grass coming down. It wasn’t just on the surface either, it was all throught the water column.
I think that is pretty normal for this time of year. It started about a month ago on upper pool 8.
