My Dad is in from Pittsburgh and we just came back from ND duck hunting. Since that was a hit I thought I would try pool 2 tomorrow afternoon. Has anyone been out there today. If so how was it? The weather is supposed to be good so it’s an excuse to get out no matter how good it is. But thought I would check.

There is a pretty good bite going. Hit the wingdams from the Airport on south. My approach has been finding active fish with cranks, then go back over the same areas with hairjigs with and without bait. (Crawler/Leech).

    Good luck!

Hair jigs and plastics during the day have been working well. If your not familiar with pitching wing dams you may want to try vertical jigging plastics, hair or minnows. The airport would be a good bet for some big saugers. The shoreline right across from the 494 landing would be a good bet also for walleyes and saugers.

Thanks to Mike Watson for helping a newbie out Saturday. I took a friend with me in my boat (neither of us have fished Pool 2 before) and Mike was kind enough to point us onto a few “hotspots”. Appreciate the help Mike!!!

Even though we didn’t land (m)any eyes, it was a great evening to be on the water and enjoy eagles, herons, ducks, geese, hawks and a nice sunset.

Thanks for the info. I haven’t ventured as far north as the airport yet. I have fished the croix for a few years. I bascally go from 494 south. Usually lions south.
