My wife caught and released a 8-11, 31″ eye last summer. to get her to put it back I told her we could get a reproduction. Anybody have recommendation for a good, resonablely priced mount?? Thanks and Happy New Year

Great job convincing your wife to release a very nice fish. That is not an easy trick to do. I had a 13 year old catch a 31 inch 10# fish from my boat up here two summers ago. While he ended up doing a skin mount (I tried, but not too hard), he will have to do a replica the next time he is able to catch a fish that size in my boat again.
Here in the northern half of the state there are two that do a masterful job with replicas. Making sure you have the picture, length & girth measurements, Ron Lax from Conover, WI and Joe Fittante from Antigo, WI make the best replicas. I think the price is into the $8-$10 range per inch for these types of mounts. If you are interested in contacting either of these fellas, I will get you more info.
