send us that image to [email protected] and we’ll fix it up and post it here ASAP.
At the risk of offending a new poster…this guy may be trolling for valid email addresses.
I wouldnt recommend sending him any info at this time.
Point taken… but he just sent out his pic. I’ll have it up here shortly.
Thanks much! I use this rig myself in the late summer on the river when fish get a bit finicky and prone to dropping the bait. Works great!
this rig is also used for steelhead drift fishing. the dropper is usually 4 inches leader length 8 feet. rod is 9ft. average. bait is usualy fly corkie or spin and glow or wobble glow. walleye have been caught using all of the above while fishing for steelhead. from shore or from a boat you cast straight out across current you will feel the sinker ticking bottom let it sweep all the way to where it stops down river leave it there for about 10 seconds or longer. you can cover alot of water and you will know that you are on the bottom with fireline. I just ordered some ringworms and super doos and will give them a shot at the st. joe river in Michigan. I was getting fish using stick baits a couple weeks ago big blue husky jerk those green yozuris are great. I started out a straight retrieve then started aggressivly rip pause that triggered them to hit. with the colder water temps I think its time to do the super doo a longer dropper maybe 2 feet a shorter leader a heavier sinker so it wiil hold in one spot let the doo hover off bottom in the current for a bit then move it. any suggestions for colors to use at night.
I also like using that rig on Mille Lacs. One additional mod to that rig I like to use in snaggy areas is this.
On the dropper, I use an egg weight for the sinker and hold it on the line with a split shot. If/when you get hung up, the split shot will release and you don’t lose the entire rig. Slip on a new sinker and you are ready to go quickly without tying a knot.

That’s the rig I use.
Thanks for the post Glenn55 and welcome to the site.

Glenn55, Welocme aboard! Thanks for posting, I’ve not tried that variation, but I will add to the arsenal now! Looks like a great rig to use for several applications!

I USE THIS WAY TOO,I ALSO PUT A SLIP BOBBER KNOT ON SO YOU CAN MAKE THE LEADER SHORTER OR LONGER.YOU CAN ALSO FEED LINE WHEN RIGGING WITH IT.
JUST ONE MORE THING, HOPE EVERY ONE RECOVERS NICELY,AND HAS A SAFE AND GRATE NEW YEAR TO COME.
one trick i have always used is to tie my snagless sinker with a standard trilene knot (once thru the eye of the sinker barrel swivel) and use an improved trilene knot for my drop line(twice thru the eye of the 3 way or in this case sliding barrel swivel). this way if your sinker hangs it will brake there and u will get everyhing but sinker back. the barrel swivel and split shot work fine but are much snagger than a pencil sinker on wing dams and riprap. good luck
