pool 8 walleye?

Made it out on pool 8 after walleye today. Tried several different spots,wingdams, riprap ,sand. All I could manage was one walleye at 15″ and a bunch of small sauger. Picked up the wife and son after lunch and my 6 yr. old managed one mooneye and a small sauger, the wife had a hard time hooking the small sauger, but fun was had by all.

Made it back to the launch just as they were wrapping up the skeeter test drive. I didn’t get any test drives in but I did meet James Holst and talked for a couple minutes. I’ll have to try and make the next one. It looked like a bunch of pretty cool rides from what I saw.

I was out on Weds night, and did OK. We mainly fished one wingdam, caught about 20 eyes with most being small. I caught a 15 immediately followed by a 23, then the bigger fish kind of fell off.

The key was finding dams with as much flow as possible on them. Hope you have better luck next time.
