I cannot remember catching any saugeyes out of P2 but caught this one last week in some deep rocks. Anyone else run across may out there?? I think we have seen some smaller ones but really never took the time to look them over. This one was really cool but the color is hard to see in the picture. Measured just over 24″ :/img200.imageshack.us/i/misissippisummer2009040.jpg/][/URL]

Nice fish, Joe! I haven’t caught a saugeye down there that I can remember.

I’ve caught a few over the years down there, and this year I got one in the 20-22 inch range, I didn’t think to snap a pic until after I released it

Thanks guys! hopefully someone can catch it in the next few years!! I believe they can get pretty big but to be honest I really dont know. About the olny thing I know for sure is that they like night crawlers

Micah, I hear ya! The faded patterning on the sides seemed odd so we took a closer look. At first I thought this fish was sick or something but with walleyes the last two rays on the dorsal fin are black. This one was different because olny the last ray off the small spine was black. Also the tail look just like a saugers with a small strip of white (not the air brush look with walleyes) It really could fool you for a sauger but there are no spots on the dorsal fin.

That is a dandy! We don’t see many down here in the lower pools either. I did happen to catch one in Pool 16 this winter with real cool markings . They are just neat looking fish. Here is a pic of my PB.

Nice fish Jig fan!!! You can see the faded pattern pretty good in that shot and it is one chunky fish . They sure do stick out when you see them! I do not know but are these stocked fish????
