Decided to head to the ford dam this after noon but because of the questionable ramp condition ended up putting in at lilydale. This was the right choice as that the lily dale strech of river had very little wind today and all the fish we caught where with in view of the ramp. The saugers where stacked up in there pretty good. Caught about 40 saugers and only 1 walleye. This is the first time I have tryed jigging this strech of river but would think with a little searching around that a few eyes could be had also.
Plastics and hair jigs took all the fish today. We caught fish on all of the dozen or so different baits we dropped down to them. A few of the items even had me scratching my head. 20 to 25′ produced most of the fish.
How did you guys do in south saint paul today?

Anouther good day for lily dale. Size of the saugers went a little smaller than yestarday but in 4 hours still managed close to 40 fish by myself. The purple hair jig took most of these fish. Thank you to who ever left that one in my boat because I dont think I have ever owned one before. Early afternoon I switched over to a keylime superdoo and moved down a little closer to the landing and was able to continue catching fish. Still did not find the size that we did yesterday but a light breeze and 40 degree temps at the end of december. Just cant beat it.

Sorry for the late reply about SSP on Friday. I got out early before the wind kicked up and spent some time at the airport. A few fish but nothing to brag about. As the wind got the best of my boat control , I switched to 3-ways and just let the wind push me upstream. Using minnows I was able to add a couple more to the total.
About noon I picked up Roscoe at the dock and we headed to the stretch above the bridge. Drifting 3-ways with minnows worked the best here also. Nothing over 18″ came to the boat.
Sure wish I was out today.
