Just a quick update here. The bite has been pretty good the past couple days. Same spots as usual…the area below the Y has been the best, but there are some fish being caught at the dam and and down around Red Wing now. Twenty five feet of water still seems best for the sauger during the day.

I sound like a broken record, but superdoos, ringworms and hairjigs have all been putting fish in the boat. Attatched is a picture of Don Hanson and (his son I believe)…sorry if I got that wrong Don. These are a couple of the many nice eaeter fish Don caught today. Good luck to all who venture out over the holiday weekend.

    Steve

What are your holiday hours going to be through the new year? I figured I’d ask as I know others will be wondering as well.

The weather looks good for Saturday and my goal is to have the boat in the water each month of the year in Minnesota so I am going to do my best to be out.

Thanks for taking the picture Steve. Great action today, spend all of our time below the Y. Most of the fish came on hair jigs. like Steve said it sounds like a broken record. We kept a few eaters and released many nice sauger and eyes. The best depths for us were between 13 and 20ft. The bigger fish, and all the eyes came in less than 20ft. If we strayed deeper than 20′ all we got were dinks. Some great weather for the weekend and Steve’s got the ramps in tiptop shape. we will see you on the water, Don

Hi Don nice fish. They just came through work and said take off so in fifteen or twenty minutes
I’m done untill a week from Friday. I plan on getting out after a few ice eyes or perch on
Menomin starting Friday. Again nice fish and good photo. Remember that water is
cold so everyone be safe and have a geat Christmas. Steve
