fished a little on friday and saturday in the rain and managed several short walleye, a northern, a striper, several channel cat, a nice slot 25″ fish and an eater 18″ fish. caught everything casting or trolling cranks. the catfish and two bigger walleyes came from casting firetiger bombers to wingdams. didn’t fish real seriously so can’t really say whether the bite is on or not. the weather is so goofy i think we need some stability before the fish really put the feed bag on. if i remember correctly it was about 3-4 years ago that we had a really aggressive bite somewhere near the end of july after some nice stable weather and river levels. hopefully that happens again this year.
