Where to start

Seeing it’s pretty slow on here,and without being able to get out on the river in the last 3 weeks, where would you start looking for post spawn eyes.

I’m not looking for exact spots (your hot spots) but what structure,depths,current (high,low,seams) baits. ext.

There is still a pretty good number of fish filtering down the backwater sloughs. They seem to be chasing smaller cranks(#5’s mostly).

I caught some casting cranks and blades on wing dams too. The thing to keep in mind right now is the high flow. The water level isn’t that high, but the flow is still in that 40k range. Fish the inside 1/2 to 1/3 of the second or third dam in a series.

It seems like there’s tons of those 13-14″ males all over right now. I’ve been on 8 mostly for the last few weeks. I’ll start spending my time on 7 for the rest of the year soon.

Thanks, I am heading out tonight but it might be tough with this wind (S,SE @ 18 mph) going here in LaCrosse. SOUTH WIND SUCKS !!!!
