I read the press release from the FLW pool 4 tourney. There were a few pro’s that refered to PIG point. I have fished Pepin for several years I’m sure I have fished this spot ,but I don’t know it by that name. Can someone fill me in on the real name. I read he was hitting DQ point , long point, and pig . I’m just not sure wich one is Pig point. Thanks for any info you can give.

Don’t take this personally Mr. Jig Fan, because it’s not aimed at anyone person.

I’ve been hanging in the bait shop for over 2 years now and still couldn’t tell anyone where it is.

However when folks ask in the public forums where “spots” are, your likely to hear crickets. It’s kinda like asking someone on line where they get their morel mushrooms. Or where they buried their coffee can of cash. (Everyone still does that right?)

There are lots of places just as good as the ones mentioned…and once a person finds one, I’m going to bet a quarter they won’t be posted any place on the net…until a few tourneys are won there.

I here what you are saying. Someone asked the same ? on walleye central and Ted posted exactly where it is . I was a little shocked that he did it , but I’m glad he did.

In MY opinion the only reason he posted where it is, is because he only fishes there a few times a year, and it doesnt matter to him the rest of the year. For us locals that like to fish that spot or any spot for that matter tend to keep things quiet so we have a chance to fish those spots when we want to and not have 15 boats on them to deal with.
Once again just MY OWN opinion

I dont think Ted knew where it was before Day 1 either so dont feel bad for asking… I miss the old days when we didnt have to go out at 4 in the morning to go fishing. Only good thing about going out that early is I may get lucky and see BK out prowling around.

I am wondering why everyone assumes that “Ted” didn’t know any of these spots. Do you think these “pros” have never fished the river before. I don’t think you understand what they do for preparation to fish these tournaments. After prefishing with some of them you have a lot better understanding that this is not all fun and games. I for one am very dedicated to walleye fishing, but these guys are on another level.

As far as “pigs point,” you can buy a variety of maps that will give you gps quardanents right to the spot. I only fish Mille Lacs a few times a year and those gps maps help me immensely. How do you think that the locals there feel about those maps? Probably about the same way us here feel about the river “spots” getting out. We are all in the same boat.
The thing I really find to be interesting is that people on this site preach to be secretive about certain fishing spots, and then the first chance they get on tv and they run around showing everyone exactly where those spots are.

Believe me, he did…plus about 100 other spots between LD3 and LD4… Ted and many pro’s are so well connected all they do is make a couple phone calls and they can get all the info they need to game plan their prefish.

Not everyone knows where Pigs Point is and alot of the big name PRO’S dont even know where Pigs Point is. They may know the point but not by name. In my own honest opinion

    Thank you Stuart!

and it is Pu$$y lane actually in my book but were on the same page! There are MANY MANY more spots out there guys…..yup the inflamous “pigs point” does hold fish…but just a heads up many of those fish refered to being caught on Pigs point were not caught on the point….just something for everyone to think about for the day.

Hey Stuart you been to “[censored] house” as of late?

Come on, everyone knows pigs point is down below the Wabasha bridge.
Damn internet, now everybody knows everything.
BK, have you been up to “bad log slough” with your chainsaw this year-think I saw the GPS coordinates for that cut on the latest hot spots map.

Chainsaw? In BK’s possession? Now that sounds dangerous.

I’m not allowed to get within 10 feet of a drill much less a chain saw.

If the guys fishing the FLW would know how to use a bullhead the weights and winners would have turned out much different.

But I’m just the lowly stereotype stink bait guy…what do I know?

I’ll be good unless someone posts the GPS coordinates of the dock–plus, there is a very special technique used to catch those fish that very few even know about.

Now that everyone knows where Pigs Point is, does everyone know how to fish it? or do we have to ask the founder of this spot Ted

    (Just my opinion)

You guys keep getting all sensitive about these “secret spots”.
Maybe the MNDNR should be shut down because they drafted the telemetry study on Pepin?

They are community spots and have been long before this site or the internet has been around.
If you dig into fishing archives, you’ll find there is a full assortment of paper maps a guy can buy that will tell you “where & when” to fish spots on Pepin.

Just got to know how to fish for river/reservoir walleyes to catch them on Pepin. It isn’t the same as fishing The St. Croix, which is different than fishing Mille Lacs, which is different than Leech, which is different than Lake of the Woods.

    Get it?

I believe Dustin and James actually filmed a fall video from this area or close to it.
