Good moring there guys. I have not seen much action here about pool 2 and for a reason I believe! I have been out a few times in the past week really have had to work to put fish in the boat. Water temps have been running 54-58 degrees depending on the day and location and the water is draining out like a bath tub. Really need some rain to get her moving again. Usually by now these fish are really active and willing to eat a few different presentation but I have yet to catch one on a crank bait this season down there. They should pull the trigger here pretty quick but at this point I dont know when. Hair has been the best and olny option that has put fish in the boat and have caught them anywhere from 4-14 fow on the current seams. #’s are down for this time of year with olny 2-4 fish a night but size has been good (23-28 inches). The fish look really good and if we get some water moving back thru the river we might run into a good bite yet. Just a quick repo anyhow and good luck to you guys if you do make it down there.
Beyond the eyes those bass down there have woke up and are going pretty good. Dont be suprised to run into a few while out. If nothing else they can sure keep you busy for an hour or two if you want to catch some fish.

Nice running into you the other day Joe! And thanks for the hairjig. Unfortunately I forgot to grab it off the dock. I didn’t end up doing anything that day except find some areas that looked good. I might hit it tomorrow morning without the kid and hopefully do better.

I have caught some on cranks, but it should be much hotter right now than it is. Weird. I think all the nice fish are hanging out by the new bridge in Mpls.

Good to see you to Joel! Too bad you and your boy were not able to tie into a few. I olny ended up with a couple myself. I would take my advise on those hair jigs and see if they help you out. Jimmy D make a mean hair jig!!

We were at Lions Levee. I don’t know if the 494 dock is in or not.

The dock was NOT in at 494 as of earlier this week. But I haven’t been out for a couple days.

I’m finally getting on the water this weekend. Spending the past three weeks in SoCal has done nothing for my fishing

was out friday night for a few hours. tried plastics and three-ways without success.

there was a cute girl from the DNR at the landing who gave me a five minute speech on invasive species before i could launch. i only remembered three words of it.. “spiny water fleas”

Which landing if you don’t mind me asking? I want to avoid that girl at all costs because there’s nothing I hate more than cute girls trying to talk to me when I want to go fishing. Sure hope to avoid her.

Fishing was ok down there this weekend but you sure had to work for them. Ended up with 3 sat and 8 eyes yesterday. Size is down a bit with lots of the fish in the 20-22 inch range and olny two that broke the 25″ mark. Caught my 1st one of the year on a crank bait in some FAST water saturday so that was a good thing. Water clarity is sitting about 14 inches now and that seems to be changing the bite. This is the 1st time in 3 years I brought out live bait for post spawn eyes and sure was happy I did. Leaches and crawlers on 3 ways put all the fish in the boat yeasterday. Half the fish you didnt even feel the hit. Just dead weight and if you didnt set quick they were gone. I did pull one off the rocks and with the way things are going those wingdams will start getting good here soon.

I was pulling a F9 on the end of my 3-way….I had a feeling crawler season might come early this year. The DNR girl who tried to hypnotize me spent half the day at lillydale and the other half at 494 and only saw two boats launch all day Friday. No wonder she was so talkative.
