    Finally registered at IDO after years of “lurking”. Planning on fishing Pool 9 walleyes this weekend, any recent reports?

    Welcome Yooper, where did ya come from besides the U.P. Look out you will probably have Gursky givin’ a little funnin’ as he is from Iron Mountain. Post above is right on in terms of looking for any current info on P9.

    Thanks for the welcome…Not a true Yooper, as I grew up across the river from Iron Mountain. Now reside in Viroqua and just starting to figure out this little walleye factory you guys call the Miss. River. It’s a little different then fishing the northern lakes. My dad is coming down this weekend and we are going to try our luck…not sure what technique to start with but it is probably going to include a jig/minnow combination, since that is what I know.

    Fishing was extremely slow this weekend. Through just about everything in the tackle box at them. Finally went up and trolled some spinners by the IA river with still no luck. Water temps were 40 – 42 in current areas and 45 in slack water areas. Need to wait a few weeks before the trolling bite will turn on.
