Well I figure you guys want some details. I had a short work day so I thought long and hard about POOL 4 . I have put my time in this spring looking for a decent eye. numbers for me but no big girls to this date. I started pitching blades to a few current seams with no avail switchhig to ringworms I boated a sauger. That was it. Moving several times not getting bit was getting me a little disapointed. I finally found a pile of whities to tied me over. I caught at least 100. Every cast on blades for 1.5hrs. I managed 1 20″ eye there. Then the bass stopped and I swithched to a gold blade to change it up. 2nd cast thump on my St Croix Extreme MLEF. 1 run and felt wierd like a tail hooked carp. To the surface she came tail first. All I could see was a reddish tail. Carp I thought. When she ended up in the net much to my suprise but a walter hooked in mouth but tail wrapped 2 times. I figure with the long cast and shallow water less then 3 feet she went dead away and then turned. So not much of a fight but a true hog. when I first saw that gold blade in her mouth I started to shake a bit. I was alone so a picture by Dustin Stewart and an official Everts scale was used setting the bar at 13.9#. Measured at 30″ exactly. I will be out on Friday good luck to all of you. P.S. I sent her on her way to make more ladies. CPR! It works.
