Here is a photo of a nice pool 2 eye I caught monday night. It was very nice to see this fish come to the boat after spending many nights learning about night time wingdam fishing.

This is my biggest eye for the year. 28″ and as fat as can be. A interisting note is that my biggest eye for 2002 came from all most the same spot as this one and also in December.

Mike, Super Walleye, way to go, with that girth it would have to be close to 10 pounds. very nice. Jack.

Thanks guys. I was suprised that the photo came out as well as it did. Most of my bottom of the boat photos are not even worth posting.
The rod was my old G.M. IM7. Still havent upgraded this one yet. The real is a diawa capricorn that I picked up this summer. Love this real. It even gets more use than my stradic and that is a great real also.

You Dawg………Where was she on Sat. night? I’ll bet you got her on my secret wingdam…. ok, maybe not. Nice piggy……looks like she was eating old Buicks…looks to be at least a 10er.

Gee Wiz Mike that is one pig of an eye. I see you caught it in pool two. Is that the bottom of your boat in the picture or a fillet table?

That is the bottom of my jon boat. Not to many of the fish I catch during the year are kept for table fair. The ones that are kept are usually in the 15″ range. This walleye is still out there waiting for someone else to catch it. From the looks of the jaw on the fish I wonder if deezee did not tangle with it earlyer in the week. He spends some time on the wingdam that she came from. CAtch and release is the way to go in my boat unless I forgot to eat breakfast that morning. Then selective harvest takes over.

She had a sore mouth you say?
Not sure Mike if I got a chance to tangle with that one or not. I know I pulled quite a few nice eyes this past couple weeks off that spot I think you are talking about. Maybe?
Just goes to show that Pool 2’s “catch and release” rule works for some one else to be able to catch that fish another day?

Can anyone give me a report on the ice situation on Pool 2 right now? I would imagine 494 area is iced up pretty good right now.

    Hi Steve,

I just checked it out over lunch here. Should be no problem getting in. Just a thin shelf of ice out about 1/2 way down the dock. Channel is open. I took a few shots that I will post later when I get home.
