This first one comes out to us from Dustin Stewart, EFN Pro-Staffer for pool 4. This dandy 26.5″ walleye cauht on 12-17 fell for an electric blue ringworm on a 1/8 ounce head worked off a rip rap shoreline out into 12′ -15′ of water. After a quick photo this dandy was released to fight another day.

Nice pic Dustin. Thanks for sharing it with us.

This second one comes out to us from James Holst, EFN Pro-Staff for pool 4 and owner of Moving Waters Guide Service. This pic is of a monster walleye caught by Cory Becktold during a guide trip on pool 4 on one of those unusually warm days we had this fall.

This particular fish fell to a 1/8 ounce Moosehead Lake bucktail – black head with blue/white body, pitched to 2′ – 3′ of water in a side channel well down from the dam. After the photo this trophy was set free. She’s still out there waitin’ for ya’ boys!

Awesome fish. Thanks for sharing the pic and the info with us.

    Keep ’em coming guys!

Sometimes I think it’s easy to take for granted what a wonderful fishery we have here in our backyards. So many times in my life I ran to Green bay, Or superior, in search of trophy fish. Pictures like these makes a person appreciate that trophy fish are right here in our home water. Waiting for us. Great job on the release, nobody will catch a state record if all the 10+’s get hung on the wall.

I agree! Everyone thinks you have to go ” up north ” to catch big fish. This IS Minnesota, this IS ” up north ”. This IS where there are big fish on the Mississippi River right here in our backyard so to speak. We are all very lucky to have such a great fishery right here. If you just look around you next time you are out fishing you will see just how many out of state boats there really are on the water and realize that this is THE fishing vacation spot or trip that ALOT of fisherman come to for catching the fish that they dream of while back home. Man, are we ever lucky! Love that River!
