Here is a picture of a big gal I caught yesterday on Pool 4. She hit my second cast of the morning. What a way to start the day!! She hit a 3/32 H20 blue/white jig with a oystershell ringworm. She weighted 10 lb. 2 oz by my digital scale(I’m not guaranteeing it’s accuracy). I didn’t get a length measurement. By the time I got her free of the net and a couple of pictures taken I felt I had kept her out of the water long enough so back she went. This is my first time posting a picture so if there is no picture below please be patient and I will try till I get it. A big thanks goes out to this site because the info I got here is what brought this gal to my boat. Thanks everyone!

Thanks for the nice comments everyone and thanks Steve for carrying all the colors of Ringworms. I hit Gander the day before I came down and they hadn’t heard of Oystershell but there it was the next morning hanging on your wall. I never thought of anything but putting the big girl back, in fact I was nervous I might harm her. She was one beautiful walleye. My son does have plans on catching her when she gets bigger just to up the old man. Wouldn’t that be a dream come true—for him and me!

    REAL nice fish!…..
if you want me to touch up your photo a bit I can probably help it out some….. nice job taking off your hat though!……
I just did some work on the small version and came up with this….. just trying to get a bit more clarity into it… but your shot really isnt bad…

I caught the girl about 6:50 A.M. or so and it wasn’t as dark as the picture came out. I remember the flash going off and I was kind of suprised. As far as taking the hat off, that was my boy’s idea. He was running the camera. My wife played with the picture a little and came up with something similar to what yours (Rivereyes) did. I like the original because it caught the moment and it is imperfect just like me.

You can always have a replica made from that photo at a taxidermist if you want a wall mount. Great looking fish. Thanks for sharing her with us. Thanks, Bill

most digitals are going to need a flash before the sun comes up….. and when that happens the background appears dark because of the higher shudder speed due to the flash….. so its a natural consequence… in my shot I used a bit of work to improve the flash portion.. then cut in a background… with the whole shot to work with IM sure results would be professional caliber!… but if your happy.. thats all that matters….

Nice fish Redneck! Be careful, Rivereyes may super impose his face over yours with his photography mojo!
    Great job!

Congrats on the piggy! . That’s one nice eye . How deep of water did that big girl come out of if you don’t mind me asking? I have been seeing large concentrations of fish right on the river banks down to about 8′ of water on my last couple of trips.

    Nice eye Redneck
