I tried Lock and dam 11 by Dubuque Iowa today but no luck. I fished both Wi and Ia side, jigging twister tails in various colors and wieghts from 1/4 to 1/2 oz. I tried blades and even minnows with split shots, but no luck. I did see a few very small eyes caught but nothing to speak of. There was about a dozen boats at the dam and it seemed real slow for everyone. Anyone in the area have any luck or special presentation that was working for them? I’m new to fishing the area on the mississippi and am always looking for tips, any help is appreciated. Thanks

I did see some carp caught from the barge, but i only had a chance to fish from 10:00am to 2:30pm. Maybe they are hitting early morning and late afternoon? I talked to a couple other boaters but they didnt have much luck either. I was thinking of trying again this weekend and maybe try the wingdams downstream. Any tips on rigs or lures to help put fish in the boat is appreciated. Thanks

Very good to see others with pool 12 interest. I returned to the old miss. this year after purchasing a new boat (new to me). I haven’t fished the river for many years and am looking forward to going out every sunday. It may take me a while to adapt to river fishing since I have been fishing mainly lakes for the past 15 years. It’s a totally different strategy when theres a ton of current involved. I look forward to post from others from pool 12. Hope theres few to read in the future.
