Fished out of Bass Camp today from Noon – 6:30pm – what a nice day to be on the water. The walleye did not cooperate, we caught several but all short. We did manage to catch 3 keeper saugers for the frypan. The bite was slow mostly in the 20-30′ range on live bait rigs and jigs with minnows, no plastic.
My son and I also got into a school of smallies, most of them in the 3# range. Here are few of the pics. Most of the base were caught in 18 – 24′ on minnows and one fell to an oystershell ringworm.
The water has come up and is moving but still very fishable. We tried some sand flats and wingdams but only smallies to show for it. All of the walleye and sauger we caught were near the dam but we did catch fish just about everywhere we went – just small.
I’ll be up to Pool 4 next weekend
