well we launched out of the public launch on the wisc side and hit the lock /dam draggen jigs , we got a good number of eyes in the boat and 1 jumbo perch and a pig redhorse to boot.
most of the eyes and saugers were caught on white paddletails with chart tails with just a plain jighead , some with just a plain jighead tiped with a fathead.
mainly in the dam area and out from the point by the lock .
fishing was good except for the fact we had to play slolom with the ice chunks but it was a good day , here some pics.
the 26″er i released she was full of eggs we caught 14 total but only kept 6-7

Nice fish! I am not trying to be a bonehead in any way, shape, or form but I noticed all of your fish are bleeding from the same spot. Just curious what happened there-were these fish real deep, or did they just get stuck deep in the gills? Rarely see that jigging.

I was one of the “other guys” in the boat with mnextreme(the other guy pictured). The fish were taking the jigs pretty deep for us. When they hit for us, they hit hard. I’ll be out again on the 28th chasing them again!!!

A friend of mine and I put a day on the water today with almost no results. We spent most of our time looking for the big girls in the shallow slow moving water. We had one guy pitching blades and the other with a ring worms. We came about three cranks away from boating a 30 inch eye give or take and inch. She came unbuttoned just out of reach of the net. This fish was sitting in about 3 fow with a sand bottom. Over all not much happening for us this Sunday, but there are plenty of fish to be had if the timing is right. We did find a number of smaller fish holding in the deep water up by the dam. If you are looking for size keep shallow.
