Made it out with DeeZee again last night. It was a perfect night to be out.. no wind, mild temps, and even a little snow. The ‘eyes were on the bite pretty good. We managed 15-20 18-21″, a handfull in the 23-26″ range, and another BRUTE pushing the 10# mark. DeeZee had the honors of pulling the big girl in.
Ringworms on wingdams were the ticket. The bigger fish came from the frontside base. I’m sure he’ll have another report up next week sometime.
NOW is the time to hook into trophy-sized fish… and you can’t beat the weather!

I don’t expect you to tell exactly where you were but were you north or south of 494?

    mnfish,

There are wingdams both north and south of the 494 bridge. From the airport wingdams to about 8 miles south of the 494 bridge are fish holding wingdams. The deeper wingdams on the past couple trips have shown to hold more fish than the shallower wingdams that I have been visiting over the past coulpe weeks.
Look for my report up tomorrow. I will cover the how-to’s, where’s and when’s to put the odds in your favor for tackling some of these aggressive walleyes. Like Travis mentioned, this is the time to catch that fish you have been waiting for all year! 20-30 fish a night has been the norm once the sun hits the treetops

I just wanted to let you know what it’s like fishing with GOD….most of us know him on this board as Mike W.

We were fishing in the same area. Mike W. hooked into something heavy. Not much fight…when it came up…belly first, one of us said it was a dead carp. In watching it next to the boat, I would have swore it was dead. When GOD reach down and touched (blessed) this 4 pounder, he put the life back into her and off she went.

Good time on the river, learned a few things about wing dams and ring worms (should be called Wing Worms).

Thanks Mike W! Good luck in Mexico and don’t forget to take your wife when you go!
