Never tried it, but i’ve heard smearing some vaseline on the inside of your rod eyes will repel the water and prevent freezing. Makes sense…..

    Reel Magic!
I use it when night fishing in early spring and late fall.
Spray it on your rods guides and also on the line around the reel. Try to do it before making your first cast. It seems to work a little better this way.
It’s not a %100 cure, but it does help some

I have also used Carmex lip stuff. Put some on the lips and some on the eyes of the rods.

If you can’t find it any silicone based water repellent spray will work.

Took one of my rods to Mel at wild goose and had him change the first four eyes to bigger ones like the fifth, works great, just dont reel jig to tip or it can get through. Add a little silicon spray if ice really becomes a problem, 25 degrees. Works good at night or early morn.
