Brave or nutty they were out there. I had to investigate further. I found that they launched at Hidden Falls which was snow covered and crappy looking. I’d be curious to hear how getting out will be for them. Anyway, good to see somebody hitting the confluence. I hope to do that soon myself!

I spent about an hour workin on the hidden falls lauch about 4 this afternoon. It looked like they had benn there. Must have benn small boats beacause before I started there was about a 12″ lip at the end of the ice. As of now the launch is launchable but could use a some extra work if someone wants to put some time in.

You’re a good man Jake! A good single man with no kids.
I might try and work on Lilydale this week.

You guys know you could launch at cedar ave. bridge on the Mn river and get down the confluence that way right? We have been going out for the past 2 weeks down there. It has been a litlle skechty getting down there and back but you can do it. We have shoveled both of the last snowfalls so it should still be in great condition

The fishing has been very slow, as in “It’s really nice just to be back in the boat slow.”

With the warm weather coming though it probably won’t matter where you go to launch, they should all be clearing up very soon.

Does this mean you might actually accept an invitation to go fishing? March is confluence time!

Drake is more interested in those “salmonoids” anyway. I’ll shoot you a pm when I got clearance from the tower. And Happy Birthday cuz-in-law.

Put the boat in at hidden falls this afternoon with thoughts of hitting the confluence… well not so much! The ice jam near watergate was just too much to bust through. Tryed a few other area including the dam which was still ice covered on the left side. No fish this afternoon. The boat launch should get cleaned up with the warmer temps on the way.

I have got the open water itch so bad I can taste the bite down there! Starting early next week I will be down there as much as I can. Looking forward to another fun March down there! Good luck to all who gets out in the coming days!
