Mad as Hell;
one last thing. I raised a similar issue a few months ago, but it was more directed toward the guides using the site for their own promotional reasons which is also mentioned in your initial comments. I also questioned why so much emphasis was placed on Pool 4.
The result of my post was one response by a guide who basically told me to go to H—. However, several responded both on this board and via E Mail fluently addressing each of the issues I raised. Included were Jarrad and Bill Caldwell. Frankly, it was kinda of a wake up call because I am convinced that the guides that post on this board are serious about protecting the fishery. James, Jarrad, Bill, Dustin, whomever, these people love the Mississippi River.
Secondly, prior to my comments, I had no idea how this board
worked, especially when it comes to time and expenses. Bottom line is I like the board and would be happy to contribute to help defer expenses.
Third, regarding my comment about few postings regarding anything but Poll 4 and occasionally Pool 5 the answer was simple. Anyone can report on any Pool they want and being retired I hope to start on Pool 5A next year.
Fourth, I have mixed feelings about the stringer issue. My personal feeling is play it down a bit and do what was suggested earlier regarding pictures of big fish, fish released into the water and reports on numbers of fish caught. I personally practice CPR, but on back to back days about 10 years ago released 2 Walleyes over 10lbs. I have never caught one bigger since but if I do will have a replica made. Nonetheless, I wish I would have had one mounted.
Finally, thanks for the post. There is nothing wrong with a differing opinion and I think it is important that the people that manage this board realize that and allow all of us to express our opinions.
P.S. I have no problem identifying myself. My Fishtheriver name is also my license plate name.
