    Mad as Hell;

    one last thing. I raised a similar issue a few months ago, but it was more directed toward the guides using the site for their own promotional reasons which is also mentioned in your initial comments. I also questioned why so much emphasis was placed on Pool 4.

    The result of my post was one response by a guide who basically told me to go to H—. However, several responded both on this board and via E Mail fluently addressing each of the issues I raised. Included were Jarrad and Bill Caldwell. Frankly, it was kinda of a wake up call because I am convinced that the guides that post on this board are serious about protecting the fishery. James, Jarrad, Bill, Dustin, whomever, these people love the Mississippi River.

    Secondly, prior to my comments, I had no idea how this board
    worked, especially when it comes to time and expenses. Bottom line is I like the board and would be happy to contribute to help defer expenses.

    Third, regarding my comment about few postings regarding anything but Poll 4 and occasionally Pool 5 the answer was simple. Anyone can report on any Pool they want and being retired I hope to start on Pool 5A next year.

    Fourth, I have mixed feelings about the stringer issue. My personal feeling is play it down a bit and do what was suggested earlier regarding pictures of big fish, fish released into the water and reports on numbers of fish caught. I personally practice CPR, but on back to back days about 10 years ago released 2 Walleyes over 10lbs. I have never caught one bigger since but if I do will have a replica made. Nonetheless, I wish I would have had one mounted.

    Finally, thanks for the post. There is nothing wrong with a differing opinion and I think it is important that the people that manage this board realize that and allow all of us to express our opinions.

    P.S. I have no problem identifying myself. My Fishtheriver name is also my license plate name.

    It would really be neat if others would join in with 2fishy4u and post on the pools that they fish too. Theres alot of pools on the Mississippi River and this way everyone could learn more about the different pools too. Granted its all one river, but each pool has its own characteristics that make it special and I for one would like to hear more about them. A person can never stop learning as things change all the time on a river. This site is here for everyone to enjoy, share and learn on. We are all fishermen and we all love this River and that gives us all a special bond. Thanks, Bill

    In response to a comment from 2fishy4u about wanting to help with the websites expenses I am going to say a few things. First of all, James does NOT know I am doing this and if my back pain calms down enough so I can make it to the committee meeting tonight I will probably get my rear end chewed off for this but I’m going to do it anyway. James has always taken pride in being able to provide this site for everyones enjoyment and to hopefully learn some things from by himself solely being able to pay for it himself as a service to you. You see he makes his living from this River by guiding on it and this is his way of giving back to the river and its fisherman. This site is growing so fast that the server he bought maybe a year ago [a much bigger one] is now going to need to be replaced with even a much bigger one to handle the growth. James, whether he likes it or not, is going to have to face the reality that one person can’t afford all this by himself and to learn to eccept some help from people who benefit from this site from the sharing, reports, friendships made, etc. who have offered to give to help with the expenses to help it grow. No, the site is NOT in trouble money wise. The bills are paid up to date. We want to grow the site even more and make improvements and be able to reach out to more people and share and be able to have a server that will be able to handle all the new viewers who are coming on board. To anyone who has expressed that they would like to help cover some of the expenses and to anyone who may decide to join in I would say that you could send whatever you feel like to this address. James Holst % Everts Resort Route 1 Box 31 Hager City, Wiscosin 54014. Steve at Everts-I hope you don’t mind me using your address for this as I know this will be a surprise to you as you don’t know I’m doing this. In fact nobody does until this is read by people on the site. Derek Johnston, one of our new staff people, came up with an idea for us staff people to clean out some of our fishing rooms and sell the fishing items on an auction or for sale forum with the procedes going to the website to provide for improvements and help towards a bigger server so James doesn’t have to pay for everything by himself like always. This idea has gone over well with everyone so in the very near future we plan on having a auction forun or staff sale forum that everyone can buy some great fishing items from. Again I am sharing something that nobody said I could do yet but as long as I’m opening my big mouth I thought I might as well put my foot in it alittle further. I want to say ”Thanks” to the people who gave me this idea by saying they wanted to help and to also say ”Thanks” to everyone who may decide to chip in and help the site with the growth. Thanks, Bill
