    Hello All
Long time lurker first time poster. I live on pool 11 on the Wisconsin side, the river is gorged up below Guttenburg so lock 10 is a no go for me. I am looking for some information about lock 9 and 8. I don’t know were the boat ramps are or were to start fishing. I am planning on going north until I find a landing that is open and going up to the lock and jigging with the current. Any information about landings, were to start or a bait shop on the way would be appreciated.
    Thank’s in advance,
    Jon

I have not fished for walleyes yet. However the bite at Lynxville dam has been good. The bait shop is just across the hwy 35 from landing. Genoa is the same. The ramp is steep so maybe some sand for traction will be needed. The bait store I think is in Geona on north end of town. Be sure and say hello to the wire hair pointer. I think her name is Gretta. Good luck and welcome to the site. I hope this helps. Post back on how you did and pics are grea too.

Either one is an easy boat ride.

Welcome to IDO Flatboat. The landing is about one mile south of the dam. Nice landing with paved parking lot…..Gene

    Genoa Ramp on 2/23/09

There was 5 boats out below L&D # 8 when I went whistling by on my way to work this afternoon. The landing shares the same entrance as the power plant from hwy 35.

I put in below lock 9, on the water at 9:00. I got my first fish at 2:00, back at the boat ramp at 4:00. I ended up keeping two Walleyes, two Saugers and a Northern. No pictures, I was alone and am not talented enough to take them with out ending up in the river. Thank’s to those that replied, I am very pleased for my first time up.

    Flatboat,
When you say gorged, I assume that means it’s a little crowded? I’m thinking of driving 3 plus hours up to Guttenburg in the next week or two.

I live nine miles below Guttenburg, just below Guttenburg the ice is gorged up in a narrow spot and I can’t get past it. It is closer for me to pull the boat 42 miles up to lock 9 than to drive up to PDC and back down. I have heard that they are fishing lock 10 but have not heard a report.

I heard that there was around a hundred boats at guttenburg today. He counted to 85 and lost track I went to lyxnville and there was about 35 boats. Fishing was ok. Great day to be on the water

    good luck
