I finally had the chance to get back on the river after a 12 day lay off with other projects getting in my way of making it on to the river .I was suppose to spend the day with a few buddies that never showed, their loss I guess. I had 40 something legal fish all by my lonesome with 27 of those fish being walleye caught in 12′ of water or less. My best bait was an oyster shell ringworm and pro-blue was a close second.

In the early am I found fish right up on the river bank before the sun got high in the sky. Casting was pretty easy in the am with little to no wind but in the afternoon the winds were howling to beat he##. I stuck it out almost until sundown. With the high winds we had on this afternoon anchoring close to my target area making really short casts to shore with jigs in the 1/4oz and 5/16oz size did the trick.

The size of the eyes were in the 18″ to 22″ range, no big fish on this day . The sauger bite was good in 18′ to 25′ during mid day with steady action. Ringies did the trick for me on the sauger as well, biggest sauger for the day went just short of 20″

Sorry, no pictures since I spent the day alone.

It felt good to get back on the river.

Cancun? . There is no walleye down there…….why would I waste vacation time heading that way .

If I would have hooked in to a really good fish Vandy, I would have found a way to get a snap shot but since I never ran across any of the big un’s, no reason to hassle someone for a quick picture

I believe the rumor mill would suggest that Dustin snuck off, got married, and vacationed in Cancun? Not that I would ever even think of starting that rumor!

    Good Fishing

Hey Mike, I’ll bet Dustin would request that instead of throwing rice that everyone would be throwing them ringworms! Thats, Bill

    Bill,

I like your idea…sound like a good reason to get married! I only want blues and purples though, none of the chartreuse or green colors .

Sorry Mike, no weddin in the near future for me.

Dusty, Does she spend much time on here? If she finds this thread you are in trouble. Thanks, Bill
