I was fortunate enough to fish below Red Wing dam the past 2 days with my brother and we had good luck both days. Weather was a little chilly but bearable. Gave superdoos a try for the first time and WOW both of us were impressed how effective they can be! Primarily fished within sight of the dam but downstream a little bit away from the crowd. Caught primarily nice fat sauger from 16-19 inches with a few nice walleyes mixed in incl. a 21 incher my brother caught today. Best dephs were 17-21 feet of water. Hot superdoo color was chartreuse pepper with the next most effective color being electric grape. We had a blast! How did everyone else do the last couple of days? Hope the good bite continues.

Was out with James and my two sons on Saturday – over 50 fish mostly good sized sauger but over a dozen walleyes. Have to tip my cap to James – we were fishing around several other boats most of the day and our boat was catching fish at least 3:1 even when everyone was using same pattern and colors. Our boat had several triples and even a quadruple when other boats right next to us were just scratching a fish or two. We could have caught a lot more but decided to go hunt pig walleyes later in the day. Oyster shell ringworms were the ticket. James also won the sheepie contest going away and placed second after a valiant effort in the smallest fish contest.

TBO and myself where dowm on 4 on saturday morning also. Started out pitching shallow with very little results. Sounds like that is a very early morning bite this year.
We then switched over to trying for some crappies up by the dam but they where not very aggressive either. A week ago they where easy pickings but this weekend we ended up with 2 and TBO picked up a nice 19″ smallie.
Ended the day down by the vermillion jigging saugers. Had about the same results there as everyone else. Tryed the oyster ringies but did find good responses to just about any lighter colored plastic that had flakes in it. Tryed a worm the same color as oyster with no flakes and did not even get a bump.
What a nice day on the water.

Jarrad and I fished friday and did very well. He will be posting a report soon. Colors did not seem too important, but I did best on electric blue(ringies) firecracker(kalins). Bii-ggest fish came before the light.
We had close to 50 by noon, 90% walleyes.

We had a great day on Friday. The purple ringworm was really the hot ticket for both sauger and walleye.
