The two freinds are very green at fishing so all help is appreciated. We will be going in at everetts if we can find it.. Planning one arriving at noon and fishing into the twilight. thanks for your worthy insight

Just bring a fresh batch of cookies and Dean will give you all the worthy insight that you need and then some. Actually he will probably do it without the cookies, but it never hurts.

Also, go to Everts website, there is really good driving directions on how to get there.

That is really pushing the envelope.. Dean is the man for pool 4 info. He won`t steer you wrong. Make sure to take notes of what he says.

I’m heading down in the morning for my first ever P4 run… Lots of Questions…

What time does Dean open up at Everts?
What time should I be on the water?
What kind of cookies does Dean like?

I’ve been reading and watching everything I can on dragging… I have a fresh bag of BFishn ringworms (purple/chart) and ready to pick up a couple of draggin’ jigs.

    Am I missing anything else???

He’s open when he’s open, if he was sleeping and you knocked on his door he’d get up, but, if you planned on being really early, I bet he could set out everything you need the night before.

Time on the water is upto you, it seems that there is always a bite in the morning when the sun is comming up, that can be a little of an adventure if it’s your first time out, myself I’m not sure I’d be comfortable navigating unknown water without some daylight (personally anyways), now that I have a good idea of the area, no problem.

Honestly if it were me I’d shoot for 7:30- 8 am, but that based on nothing more than it lets me get up at a more normal time, lets the sun come up and lets me not feel rushed to be out there in enough time to be setup and fishing when the sun starts comming up. You should also run into more people, good to talk to the people out there and see what’s working for them.

Cookies? I stop in the Farmington Bakery, for It’s one block off the route I take (probably the same route you go) and they make some awesome cookies, Dean seems to like the “Hermit” cookies there , but they are all great I gotta get a bunch of types and cookies, they go fast.

Also feel free to call him and ask “if the fish are biting and if the ramps are open”

Little joke the Ramps are always open, and it’s upto the fish to bite.

But seriously don’t be afraid to call down today or send him a pm, he’s a busy guy (I highly doubt there is anyone else on the site that get more Pm’s than dean, atleast in spring) But he’ll always reply and/or talk to you

Store bought cookies will not get you upto date fishing info unless there fresh that day. For the latest and best info,Crisp on the outside and chewy inside baked with love.

Sorry I missed this post guys.We are normally open by 6 am.

The bite here much like anywhere else in February is really hit & miss.We had a nice surge with the melt off earlier in the week, but yesterdays cool down put us back into in-active bite windows that were a challenge for most anglers.Minnows have been overall, the most consistent for most and bucktails are starting to make a showing as well.

Thank goodness the cookie bite has been much better than the fish bite.
