Are there any ramps open in Davenport or close by with access to tail water fishing? If so does anyone have a fishing report?

saw this on the iowa dnr fishing report from thursday.

“The Marquette St. ramp in Davenport is open. A few anglers have been walleye and sauger fishing in the tailwaters but fishing has been slow.”

I might be a little confused, but doesn’t walleye season end on lock and dams from dubuque on down until march 16th? I thought that was the rule now? If not, I think my boat might be in the Quad Cities this weekend.

Boat ramps are open and busy, Sat. will be worst. Fishing was slow but did scratch a limit out. To answer your question on the dam being closed to fishing P13,P12,P11 are the only ones closed in the winter all other dams are open.

Only pool 12 is closed until march 16th. I heard that is coming to an end next year, I guess it was a five year plan. I could be wrong also.

JD I guess I should have said the dam area on 13,12,and 11 is closed and it started out to be a 5 year program but now I am hearing that the DNR is extending it another 2 years. I think that has been a good program producing better Walleye’s and Saugers.

Sunset ramp was open, kind of, on Sunday. Marquette is plenty open and Sunset ramp on the river side should be clear by now…just needed a little more snow and ice off the ramp. Fishing was slow, but fish were caught. Ringworms with or without meat were producing bigger fish.
Cooler temps now shouldn’t hurt the fishing, but will thin out the crowds a bit.
