Jason, what type and size line were you and James using?

    Jason or James,

Great show. Maybe I missed it, but how close to the bottom were you dragging those jigs in the summer? Are you with 6-12 inches from the bottom or much higher in the water column? I realize in the winter when the water clarity is 5 feet or more at times, the jigs came be several feet off the bottom but in the summer with 6 inches of clarity, is it more critical to be real close to the bottom?

    Thanks,

    Boone

Suffix Elite 6Lb diameter for me. I’m pretty sure Jason was using the same.

    Hi Boone

Great question. We keep those jigs riding just above bottom. As you stated in your question “6 to 12 inches” seems to be about right. You don’t want the jigs dragging right on the bottom but due to the poor visibility you do need to put the bait right in what amounts to a very small strike zone.

Now that is what I’m talking about
Great show James!!!! Very good content and the camera work was excellent. I could almost smell the river as I watched. It sure is a fun way to spend a summer day—or so I’ve been told
