I know this is late news already, but I have been hung up with the flu the last couple of days, otherwise I would have reported sooner.
Anyway, Last Friday afternoon/evening sprung a excellent bite on Pool 2. Ringworms and hairjigs produced a great bite. In about 3 hours of fishing, I boated 12 fish. Smallest just under 21″. Had a 30 incher laying on her side waiting to be netted and I was stumbling in the boat trying to grab the net quick and I seemed to get it caught on everything that came close to it. Needless to say I lost the fish as she took one last run at the boat and caught me off guard. This was the biggest eye I have seen down here this fall so far. I did manage to boat a 28 incher and several 24-26 inch fish. These fish were all over the wingdams, high and low.
The snow started to fall about 4:00pm and the fishing had just taken off from there. I left about 6:00pm and still had managed a couple more bites.
I had spent Sunday down on Pool 4 to take advantage of a hot jig bite that I heard so much about. We caught alot of fish on just plain vertical jigging hairjigs. This produced a little less numbers but a little nicer average saugers.
We then headed back to Pool 2 for the evening bite on Sunday and only managed one 23 inch fish until dark.
I got a chance to meet Dustin Stewart, and Steve from Everets Resorts. Very nice to meet both of you. Dustin, drop me a line if you are interested in coming up here for a Pool 2 bite OK?
Hope everyone got out and enjoyed the bite somewhere.
