Where is the better bite going to be at this weekend? I’ve heard a few reports from lynxville, nothing from down on pool 11. Anybody been out lately? Blade baits and hair jigs still the key? Still a lot of grass floating around? Is there still a pretty good wing dam bite? Who’s on second? lol I know this is a lot questions, but an idea or two would be great.
    Thanks Dave

I was out most all day today…Started out out of PdC this morning , worked Roseau, across from Lawler Park,Mouth of Garnet, parts of the dredged out pit Dilman loades his barges in…NATTA…..

Went up to the dam #9 from around 2pm till after dark with only 2- 15 1/2 ” walleyes to show for it…Bill Hubbard (the owner of the fishing float) said that with all the wind we had , it stained up the water big time…When I dropped my jig down into the water it went out of site in the first 6″… Bill says he expects the fishing to pick back up once the river clears back up a bit… Casting H20 jigs with ring worms pick up my fish today. There are only a few areas you can do this without picking up grass every time…even at best I still picked up grass every 3rd cast…and most places picked up grass every cast…

    Good Luck out there !!

Fished Guttenburg from 1:30 to 4:45 PM this last tues. Ended up with a 15 inch walleye & a nice Sauger. Took them on 1/2 ounce gizits. The bite was tough for me & I don’t know why, as the next days forcast was supposed to be windy & rainy. Talked to some other people who ither had one or zipped for the day.

A guy told me he got skunked at Guttenberg for the first time ever this week. I was there a while ago and caught some nice saugers. Fishing without a boat probably means a float. There’s one at Guttenberg and I think the one at the Lynxville dam is operating too. Don’t know how you arrange to get a ride out there though. Keep those reports coming.

Hi super dave I would go to Lynxville.By the way the end of October I had the experience of spending some time with a engineering professer from the Uof I on the Rainy river.I turned his boat on to some nice fish. They got big fish one day that measured 28″ plus. They learned its all about attitude.

    Daveeast,

There are fishing floats at L/D 9 and L/D 8 each have a shuttle to get you there and back…And both are reporting fish being caught…

Well, I decided to go to guttenberg on saturday. Got on the water around 1030am. Started out messing around in ackermans cut and up by the old dam, no luck. Headed up to the dam and got one nice 17″ sauger below the float. Saw some fish being caught, and caught some more short ones, but got sick of playing bumper boats. Talked to two guys at the ramp that had there limits, so it must have picked up in the afternoon. My fish came on a sonar, saw most caught on jigs and minnows.

The afternoon bite at Lynxville has been better. The firecracker ringworm has been working well as have green/yellow bucktails, and as always any color down here as long as it is purple is good.

I’ve had good luck on purple/white ringworms.

    Good Luck

Went to GUTTENBURG 11/19 Wed and looked around they were not
doing much on the float there, small sauger, so went on to
Lynxville l/d 9 and they were doing great, Tuesday and Wed
they were all getting there limits of nice sauger and walleye mix. So decided to try it Thursday 11/20 on the
float and of course the bite had slowed way down but the
weather was great and did catch some sauger, plus seen
several 20 to 22 inch walleyes caught. This was a learning
trip and next time will know the tricks. Good luck to all..
