I just returned from Pool 4 all I can say is WOW what a fishery! The pitching bite was exellent at sunrise and sunset. We boated tons of nice eyes pitchin Ringworms at these times of day. When the sun was out the saugers were smoking plastics. I would like to thank Dean for the tips and for selling us those new lizards . They were smoking hot on walleyes and saugers. We notice the bite on the lizards was very hard much harder than the normal plastic bite. They must really think they have to kill it. Dean I will be calling to order some more of them. We caught fish from the head of the lake to the dam, we caught fish every place we tried. What a place. I will be counting the days till March for my next trip. Here are a few pic’s.

I sure am glad you had a great trip and my hat is off to you in pursuing the less traveled areas that this pool offers! That can be very difficult for some, especially someone that doesnt get to fish here much!

Looking forward to hearing how some of those baits work back home for ya!

It was good to share the water with your dad and you. My wrists will take a while to heal up with the plastic bite so strong. Pool 4 truly is a great fishery. See you on the water in pool 16……

Was up at P4 Mon PM, Tuesday, and Wed AM as well. My buddy, Ryan, came down from Mpls and we had positive results. Didn’t give the pitching bite as much time as I had intended, but did very well fishing vertical with ringworms. Firecracker chartruese and Redneck Cracker both produced very well. Oystershell also had its place during the peak sunlight.

Caught fish in every place we stopped. Only spent about an hour up by the dam. Was nice to avoid the crowds and still catch plenty of fish. Probably ended up with 70+ fish for a total of 2 days fishing….no monsters, but hard to complain about those results!

Thanks for all of the tips and hospitality, Dean! Hope you get that buck yet!

Sounds like I missed a good week but it was fun relaxing in South Dakota. Hey Brian, Redneckcracker is still producing
