hi all, was up by the dam for most of the day, had one friend with me. Saugers are in and pretty active 15-20 ft. walleyes are much shallower. I like jig and minnow for Saugers, didn’t get into any big fish, but did have on 3-4 fish that were very heavy working them up that came off, would have liked to see those fish. did manage to land 9 Northerns during the morning and late afternoon throwing small home-made jigs and plastic. that was a surprize as I’ve never seen a pike down there during the winter. am going to take a friend from work down in the morning for a few hours after the rain quites. the best term to use for the Saugers, is No Brainer Jiggin. and that’s a fact. Jack.

I have to agree if you wanted to teach someone how to vertical jig, right now is a great time. I had them hitting on the up swing, down, just holding the jig off the bottom. Gotta love it!!!!
