I got out saturday for a few hours on Pool 16. I hit a couple of wingdam’s that usually produce for me, but the bite was very tough. I tried cranks, plastic and live bait. I picked up a few shorts, but that was it. So I decided to go up to the Arsenal dam and try it up there. I’m glad I did. I was vertical jigging electric blue/ pearl ringworms in 8 feet of water on the east bank and caught 30 or so sauger’s and eye’s from 14 to 18″er’s in an hour and a half. There was also alot of white bass and stripper’s in there too. The fish hit pretty agressively. I went through almost 2 dozen ringies. The fish were just tearing them up. If anyone in the QC area would like to go out, just give me a ring. I’d be more than happy to share my boat with you.

    Hey Tony,
Nice report. It seems everywhere you have to keep hunting, but can find lots of fish somewhere. We are heading out in the a.m. if the wind does not blow us off the water. Pattern here has been very erratic, but there are definetly HUNGRY fish to be found. Last time out we trolled cranks, cast Kalins and rings, vertical jigged rings and larger plastics, and pitched hair jigs to rip rap. We finally picked up our fish on super dos drifting dead stick on an inside bend with sand dunes. These fish were a mixed bag as well, with saugers, eyes, catfish, and quite a few white bass. Most of the hits were HARD. Good fast action for a couple hours, then the switch went off and we did not find another pattern before time to go home.
