Seems as though the saugers are the main bite at the Lynxville Dam as I caught a few. But when nite time came I hit the shallows well below the dam and came up with a 22″ eye that weighed 4lb 10oz. I got a quick pic and let her go.

Great job! Not only with the catch, but most notably with the release! From what I’ve been able to read on the subject lately, 22″ and an egg layer to boot makes that fish a valuable resource. Was it twilight or pitch dark when you dropped downstream to fish shallow? Thanks…….B

    Hey Big B ,

I was off the river by 7pm. I would have stayed out longer but it was raining pretty good on and off. Do you fish pool 10 ?

Hey, ecnook, yes I do fish #10, mostly on the S bend and below, and the dam of course. Grew up fishing summers in the Ambro Slough, if that won’t make you a river rat, nothing will, LOL! NO fishing this weekend, 1st IA. gun season. So far lots of deer, but only 3 bucks good enough to take and 2 missed opportunities. Good luck to all who are fishing……B

I’ve fished pool 10 for years. Ever fish Mud Hen, Swift, or Jap slough? They have all turned up walleyes for me. Let me know how you do on pool 10!!!
