John there are walleye active almost everywhere on the channel right now. We did our best this weekend in areas with good sizes structure,i.e. Wingdams ,log jams, dam walls. The water is still more than warm enough for the fish to chase quite well. Taylor Tackle Walleye Killers,(hair jigs), brought in all but one of our walleye. The odd one came on a Taylor Tackle Generic Firetiger crank.

Thank alot for the info. It about a 6 hour trip up to fish this should make it a a good trip. Do you know of any area’s to troll. My hands are in bad shape and i can only hold a rod so long in a day trolling give them a break.

You can always try the clam bed in Minnesota slough, and the Desoto Bay area, but I have to be honest it has been three weeks since I have had to try either. If you have a rod holder or two and have a feeling for when you are getting , too… close to the wingdams some guys are trolling the face of wingdams, (using trolling motor), with plastic or hair and catching some fish.
