My family and I spent a few days looking for walleyes on pool 9. We tried jigging/dragging bait and pulling cranks. Pulling cranks seemed to win out for better sized fish, but neither provided constant action. It seemed like you could pull a few fish in each spot, but after catching a few you had to move on as the fish were scattered out. The back channels and side cuts produced most of our action as the main channel current is still very swift. Most walleyes and sauger caught were below keeping size, but we managed 7 or 8 good sized fish with the biggest taping out at 21″s. The panfish bite was slow for us only bringing in one nice crappie for dinner. Anybody else make it out on pool 9 last weekend?
