Just a quick report from a very inexperienced river angler…pulled in to Evert’s about 2:00pm yesterday, took off after talking to Dean. We only managed a couple white bass for the first part of the day, couldn’t find the wally’s. Headed up into a slough to try for some pike. I was casting a 4″ Husky Jerk into some clear flowing water, and a 25 1/2 inch walleye just nailed it! I was surprised to say the least, and that fish put up more of a fight than many largemouths I’ve caught. That was the best fish of the day, only caught one other walleye about 14″. Anyway, I’d say to try every spot that looks good for ANY fish, there’s a good chance of a walleye hanging out there.
