Many thanks to James for a great day on the water! Learned some water between the dam and the lake plus caught a ton of fish. The best part of the deal was we never got within sight of the dam. In fact, one of the few people we got close enough to talk to lives 15 miles from me, 185 miles from where we were fishing. Nice meeting you on the water Mr. Schick. We caught a few fish on cranks, most of our fish were taken on rigs worked slowly… very slowly. I truthfully had no idea this relativley simple method was this productive.

I am now well into the tenth step of the twelve step program to stop blindly following the crowd to the dam each spring and fall and start looking downstream for more walleyes & less people. I really think it’s a matter of confidence for alot folks, we know there will be sauger at the dams and we know they can be taken on jigs, however we also know we catch fish other places in the summer and the fish will use most of them at some point in their trip upstream. I will be trying those”away from the dam spots” more often now. Thanks again James, Sean & I both had a great day! Sean says he is embarrassed by the number of jigs I lost, he also says that without you and him I would’nt have any fish at all, I told him to back off or he will be fishing in the Amish boat from now on.LOL!……..B
