I got to Pool 4 and launched there for the first time. Dean was great and I gave him some cookies.
Then I launched the boat, and since I was alone, I needed to park it at the dock while I moved the truck. Upon docking I hit an exposed screw that put a nice gash in my gelcoat.
I try to blow it off and just enjoy the day. I am somewhat successful when I catch some keeper walleye and sauger. I’m feeling better.
Then the spot dies down and I am going to head for the dam and work my way down. I get there and catch a nice one only to discover my ruler bounced out of the boat on the ride to the dam. Oh well, I never liked that one anyway.
I check out some more spots and then decide to head in. Everything loads ok, I tell Dean about the screw and he promptly removes it. So it won’t be there to ruin anyone elses day.
I got home and had to back the boat in twice befor it got where it belongs (it’s a very tight fit) and I dinged my kicker.
I cleaned the fish I caught still in dis-belief as to my luck with the boat. I open the door and it bounces against a pair of extra shoes and damn near puts the fillet knife in my arm.
I hope my bad fishing/boat luck is done for a while! I need a beer.
