Late last week I had the opportunity to spend a short evening with a couple great teenage brothers Jacob and Jordan Hayes down on Pool 2 of the Miss river. These two guys have an hunger to fish that I have not seen in quite sometime. We got on the water about 4:00pm or so and proceeded to throw cranks to the wingdams. Our first stop produced a nice 24 inch fish that Jacob stuck on a Bomber 6A. Our next few spots gave up an eye here and a eye there but mostly the fish were smaller in size.
THe wingdams are starting to turn on each and every trip I get down there. We should see some considerable better results in the next few trips.
I just wanted to thank these guys for tagging along with me as I enjoyed every minute of the evening. These guys are very avid fisherman as they get down to the river about every single day of the week.
Here is Jacob (Mr. Sheephead ) with his nice fish!

Next is a pic of Jacob’s younger brother Jordan with a nice 19 inch sauger that fell victim to a #5 rap pitched to the wingdam. These two guys proceeded to catch a bunch of more walleyes from each spot we visited, including a big 6# sheephead that Jacob caught. We all thought it was a nice eye for a second until she came to the surface…BAAAAAAHH!

Got out for a couple hours the other night once again for a short period and stuck a couple nicer fish in the backwaters trolling wally divers and raps in 4-6 foot of water. Did not get a chance to taste the after dark bite, but will this weekend sometime.
I liked this pic so much, that I decided it was time to change my mug shot?

Great job Steve, Looks like those two boys had a blast. I’m taking out a couple of youngsters out saturday. They stop by the house everyday, wishing it was saturday already…..lol…. I know how they feel,I’m still that way.

She was a fat 27-1/2 incher that went a solid 8#. She was regurgetating (sp?) gizzad shad all over the boat.
Another 26″ fish came from the same area that was skinny as can be! Wonder who was eating all the table scraps!
