Fished today from about 11:30 to 4:30 for the first open water trip outing of the year I never made it to the dam, but decided to fish between bay point and hay creek. I did alright. Ended up boating 12 sauger between 8 and 20 inches. Only had 2 real little ones, the others were 16-20 inches. Real nice day to be on the water I used the ever popular hair jig and a fathead. Yellow and blue in 24 fow seemed to be the ticket for me. I also tried to go as slow as I could and keep vertical, which seemed to work best. Man there were a ton of people out there today Not fast and furious by any means, but a great time. I would be interested to see how everyone else did??
