decided to brave the weather forecast today and after a 5 mile boat ride in the pouring rain had to wonder if we made the right decision.
but three nice fish on the first float and we were well on our way to a great day on the big river.
found fish on a good break, others – mainly small ones – were in the deeper water but the nicer walleyes were on a 20 foot flat.
big plastics again were the ticket. 4 inch plastics were ok for saugers but the over 20 fish went for the bigger baits. no surprise there.
had 2 23 inchers, a 21 and a 19.5 walleye and quite a few nice saugers in the 16-18 range.
jake – in pix no. 2 – caught his first ever walleye/sauger and worked his way up to this 21 incher.
