I talked to Len at the Falling Rock Bar. Things a little slow yet but if you go up or down you should find them.
September 25, 2003 at 8:45 pm #257824Don’t try to look at the bait at the falling rock. The lady that works there can be quite rude to people. Even long time customers who don’t bother to go there anymore.
September 26, 2003 at 5:41 pm #257609I have to jump in and say I always try to stop by the Falling Rock when I’m fishing nine or ten. I think you may have ran into them on a bad day. I have ALWAYS been greeted with a smile from the ladies and up to date fishing info from Len.They also have the best pizza by a dam site. I hope you give them another try because I find it a valuable stop on my trips. See ya on the water.JD
September 26, 2003 at 8:21 pm #258741I haven’t been to the Rock in a while but I have NEVER had a bad experience there. Len and his wife are about the most accommodating pair I have ever met…I do believe you must have caught some one on a bad day…And we all know we all have them some days … Stop by there and give it another go !!
September 30, 2003 at 7:56 pm #257602I am a member of the falling rock walleye club. I went in there one day because I couldn’t catch any catfish bait. I wanted some large minnows preferably shiners or suckers or something. I have been going there for years. I bought food, bait, gas, you name it and never had a bad experience. This time I looked into the bait well you need to open the top and the lady came running around the bar like I was going to steal something. She sneared at me and said that nobody handles the bait here but me. I left there scratching my head with no bait and the feeling like I wasn’t appreciated as a customer. I emailed their website later explaining that I wasn’t treated well and I certainly wasn’t going to steal anything. I would be happy to continue my patronage of their establishment, but they did not bother to get back to me. Let the buyer beware. I can understand a bad day, but in my business you have to be nice to people or they don’t go to you anymore. I can buy my gas elsewhere. Cabelas is right down the street. Walleyes are not really my bag anyway.
kapnjimPosts: 112October 1, 2003 at 3:42 pm #277094I have had nothing but great experiences at Falling Rock. The people and the food are second to none. Len always has valuable fishing advice and on one occassion they went well beyond being friendly just to accomodate me, and it was the “first time” I was in the place. I do recall Len saying one time I was in there that his computer was not working, so maybe that is why you did not get a reply.
FallingRockPosts: 30November 18, 2003 at 6:49 am #282245Thanks to all who replied to this post.I know that I’ve been offline for a while but this evening I had a VERY GOOD conversation with James Holst. The issues at hand are resolved and hope that all of you will forgive me for not keeping you up to date on the lower pool action.Eagos and attitudes get in the way and it should not happen(And it was all mine) but we are all human.Again I APOLIGIZE (we could use spell check here). In addressing the negative post on this form all I can say is that here is a copy of what I PM’ed this person (Everyone that veiws this is more than welcome to voice there opinion on this) (If this is who I think it is.You had better come in and talk to myself or my wife, prefferably to the both of us.Or else drop it.
This is a bussiness do you walk in all bait shops and stir up there minnow tanks? I don’t.I also recall of telling you of other bait shops in the area that may have the live bait that you wanted.)Thanks Again to those of you that read this post and I hope to see you on the RIVER.
